Corkey....there is something wrong with this audio recording. There is no sound, complete silence from time: 5:10-8:47. I thought you might want to know. After 8:47 on, the sound if fine.

I left Brokeback Mountain feeling very validated as a gay man. For once, a movie that presented gay love as something that is very real. Not porn, not camp, not schtick, but a tangible wonderful thing that can exist between two men. The movie drove this home for me. Gay love is real. It is natural. It is something that is beautiful and treasured. This is what I think tends to make some people uncomfortable, realizing that being gay is not a choice, it is just who were are.

Great show today Corkey. Living in Los Angeles, I relate to a lot of your observations about being gay in a large California city. It is..something to be treasured, yet you can feel as though you live in a giant bubble. Still, I don't know if I could live outside the state. Too many red states out there.
